Women and teens from all around the state of Washington will compete for the title of Miss Washington USA and Miss Washington Teen USA 2020 on Sunday, Nov 3 at the at Highline Performing Arts Center in Burien.
The winner of the Miss and teen divisions will represent the state of Washington in Miss USA and
Miss Teen 2020 pageant on the next spring.
Amber Bruce of West Seattle is a plus size model and she's one of (Miss) contestants. Amber will make history if she became the winner as she will be the first plus size ever to win Miss Washington USA Pageant.
"I am feeling all of the things! My journey in #pageantry started with this organization and I am so grateful for @pageantsnw for providing a place for me to grow my brand." Amber wrote on her Facebook Page.
" She advocates for body positivity and self love through the social media campaign #BeautyBeyondSize. Amber has taken her platform all over the United States. Being Miss Washington USA would allow Amber to continue to inspire and empower women on a broader scale through such a prestigious organization." Miss Washington USA website wrote on Amber's bio.
The preliminary competition which will be held today, Nov 2 (12 pm) will consist of three equal phases: active wear (Teen) swimsuit (Miss) , evening gown, and interview.
The new titleholders for both division will receive many prizes and scholarships includes a $1000 scholarship to the University of Montana Western.
Evelyn Clark of Cathlamet was crowned Miss.Washington USA 2019 while Lily Lloyd of Orting was the Miss Washington Teen USA 2019 winner.
This year, 36 contestants in Miss Washington USA competition will compete for the state title and 27 contestants in the Teen competition.
